It is necessary to continuously monitor the operations of databases, servers, networks, firewalls, data storages, back-ups and other components of information systems and their links with customer transactions. Insider knowledge and system linkages are an insperable part of this monitoring process as well. The aim is not only to avoid critical conditions and dead plates, but mainly to permanently maintain the level of agreed services, QoS (Quality of Services), of the information system.
And this is the particular reason for introducing systems of effective monitoring and performance / event management. Our solutions are based on one or several technologies depending on the needs of the customer and the optimal solution for him.
VERITAS SANPoint Control
VERITAS SANPoint Control is dedicated to end-to-end management (monitoring, administration, planning) of all components of Storage subsystems. Due to its multiplatform abilities, it allows for an integrated administration of storage environment and its systematic monitoring. Additionally, the Storage subsystems can be used with key applications in mind (Oracle, MS Exchange…).
VERITAS SANPoint Control monitors the parameters and operations of Storage subsystem and can automatically react to occurring events. Based on the policies set by the administrator, it offers storage sources based on the appearing needs.
Other SANPoint Control function is the automatic discovery and visualization of Storage subsystem, incl. the interception of critical applications such as Oracle database, etc. and applications for the management of infrastructure (e.g. backups).
This way it allows for the monitoring of a link between applications and storage and so support the management of the level of services. When coupled with some other products, such as VERITAS Volume Manager, it allows for a definition of policies for infrastructure services and so control the relevant SLA (Service Level Agreement).
Apart from monitoring and administration offers VERITAS SANPoint Control also the possibility to define metrics and analyze the history of the use of resources, storage operations and error rate. Using this analytical support, an effective capacity planning and Storage subsystem development can be done.
HP OpenView Operations
HP OpenView Operations and Performance(OVO, OVOP) is a complex system dedicated for the monitoring and administration of critical company systems, applications and services. Supervisory center based on the OVO basis is oriented towards constant IT services delivery through monitoring events related to individual services and the use of IT infrastructure capacity from the service perspective. Due to the flexible architecture, it is possible to carry out both central supervisory office focused on the supervision of all parts of IT as well as several very specialized supervisory centers for the monitoring of only certain IT parts (networks, databases, operational systems, …)
OVO allows for the supervision of distributed heterogeneous infrastructure. It supports a wide portfolio of operation systems, applications incl. e-commerce or web, databases, application servers, postal and conference servers and many other components.
Aside from an integration with other OpenView products (Network Node Manager, Service Desk, Internet Services, Service Navigator, etc.), OVO offers an easy integration with third party products or proprietary tools and so can be the center for monitoring and management of operations of arbitrary complex environment.
Compuware Vantage
Management of operations supervision is based on a set of Compuware Vantage products, which are another alternative for the establishment of such systems offered by our company. These solutions focus namely on the layer of business applications and their aim is to monitor and manage the operations of applications to the level of transfer of concrete user transactions through the system.
Apart from using the standard tool for operations monitoring and automation of event solutions of limited states, it is very effective to use the extensive tools of Compuware when analyzing the operations of application for monitoring when heavy-load testing of the applications.
